The IPN Celebrates 98 Years of Contribution to Education in Colombia

The National Pedagogical Institute (IPN) celebrated its 98th anniversary with a commemorative event that highlighted its fundamental role in the education of children and young people in Colombia. During the event, which was attended by students, teachers, staff, and graduates, artistic performances were held, and a touching moment was shared during which the birthday song was sung and cake was enjoyed.

Helberth Choachí, Rector of the National Pedagogical University, highlighted the importance of this day as an occasion to celebrate the legacy of teachers and graduates who have contributed to the institution throughout its 98-year history. Marcela González Terreros, Director of the IPN, emphasized the profound impact the institution has had on the education of generations of Colombians who have contributed to the country’s development.

The meeting also served to commemorate the IPN’s recognition as a national historical and cultural heritage, as established by Law No. 1890 of May 10, 2018. This law highlights the IPN’s work in areas such as musical training, physical education, teaching values ​​for peaceful coexistence, and innovative teaching practices.

In addition, mention was made of the historical milestones in Colombia in which the IPN has played an active role, contributing not only to educational development but also to the progress of the country as a whole. Juan Manuel Galán, a distinguished graduate of the school, expressed his pride in the institution and his hope that it will continue to be a leader in pedagogical innovation and maintain its reputation as one of the best public schools in Colombia.
