Principles and Objetives


University will be guided by these principles as follows: 

  1. University self-government set forth in the Charter and the Law without detriment against the inspection and supervision role of the State. 
  2. The relevance of their actions regarding harmonization of the scientific thinking universality against the Colombian multicultural expressions particularity. 
  3. Programs and services quality offered according to the science and technology development from a long-lasting improvement in their management processes. 
  4. A comprehensive education of students, regarding their critical and reflective development, thought freedom, self-government and pluralism against ideologies.
  5. Equal opportunities to access UNIVERSITY services provided capabilities and academic conditions. 
  6. Freedom of teaching, learning, research and academic issues consistent to institutional objectives and principles. 


University objectives are as follows:

  1. Generating education and pedagogy knowledge, and developing innovative educational processes.
  2. Training and improving educators and other educational stakeholders, by preference professionals at all levels and types. 
  3. Socializing knowledge related to education by several publishing strategies, and providing Educational Information and Documentation services at local, national and international level. 
  4. Strengthening, stimulating and building educational academic communities of this area, and encouraging counterpart interaction at international level. 
  5. Backing to develop the teacher professional identity and his/her relevant recognition in the social context as a cultural worker. 
  6. Backing to the education of citizens based on pedagogy and a practice of the Colombian Charter. 
  7. Generating stuff for different levels and types of education in the country, and disseminating results regarding research, training and extension projects and programs. 
  8. Promoting healthy environment preservation and encouraging the ecological education and culture. 
  9. Backing higher levels of educational quality in the country.
  10. Encouraging scientific and technological development in the areas of their own competence.
