UPN reaches Vaupés to Advance Teacher Professionalization

In line with its commitment to delivering high-quality, relevant education to every corner of the country, Universidad Pedagógica Nacional is moving forward with a specific agreement with the Association of Indigenous Authorities of the Pirá Paraná (ACAIPI). This partnership aims to provide professional training for elementary level teachers in the Pirá Paraná territory, located in the department of Vaupés.

This initiative reflects the University’s mission to serve as a truly national institution that reaches even the most remote regions, strengthening the construction of a more inclusive and diverse country. The program will be delivered through the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education in a distance learning format, allowing teachers to receive training without leaving. their communities.

Professor Isabel Crstina Calderón Palacio, a faculty member of the program, emphasized the importance of the initiative: “Our goal is to reach the most remote areas of the country with a teacher training proposal that is both relevant and high-quality. These agreements helps us realize our vision of being a national university that reaches diverse regions and foster closer ties with Indigenous communities through a program that promotes dialogue and intercultural exchange. Both the University and the territory benefit from this collaboration”.
