On August 22, Professor Víctor Eligio Espinosa Galán, Academic Vice-Rector of Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, took part in the inauguration of Universidad de la Paz in the municipality of Viotá (Cundinamarca). The launch event was attended by Ricardo Moreno, Vice-Minister of Higher Education; Óscar Hernán Quiroga, Mayor of Viotá; Juan Alberto Arraut, Rector of the Institución Universitaria de Cartagena; Brother Ariosto Ardila Silva, Rector of the Escuela Tecnológica Instituto Técnico Central; delegates from Colegio Mayor de Cundinamarca; representatives of the Cundinamarca Governor’s Office; and local authorities.

Universidad Pedagógica Nacional continues to strengthen its regionalization strategy in coordination with the national government, local communities, and the Cundinamarca departmental administration, aiming to bring its undergraduate teaching programs to regions historically distant from public education offerings and to contribute to their social, cultural, and productive transformation.

This effort, led by UPN Rector Professor Helberth Choachí, the University’s Academic Council, and the faculties, demonstrates the Institution’s commitment to high-quality public education that reaches all areas of the country and responds to the diverse needs of each context.
