With talent and teamwork, the men’s and women’s volleyball teams of Instituto Pedagógico Nacional (IPN) were crowned champions of the District Phase of the National Inter-School Games. The victory, achieved on August 26, grants them the honor of representing Bogotá in the regional stage of the tournament, to be held in Nobsa, Boyacá, from September 13 to 16.
This remarkable achievement is no coincidence but the result of meticulous planning and dedication. As explained by Professor César Fernández, a full-time Physical Education teacher at IPN and coach of the women’s team: “Participation in the National Inter-School Games has been our main goal since the beginning of the year. Becoming champions fulfills the objective we set, positioning us as one of the top teams at the district level. That’s why we participate in so many tournaments throughout the year, to prepare ourselves in the best possible way for this event.”
The championship-winning delegation that triumphed in the district phase included 14 players from the women’s team and 12 from the men’s team, all of whom demonstrated skill and sportsmanship in every set played.
The women’s team is coached by Professor César Fernández, while the men’s team is led by Professor Orlando Vargas Vergara, also a full-time Physical Education teacher at the institution.
With their sights set on the next challenge, our athletes are preparing to face the region’s top teams in Nobsa, seeking a ticket to the National Finals of the Inter-School Games.
On behalf of the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional community, we extend our warmest congratulations to the athletes and coaching staff. Let’s continue supporting our teams, who with great effort and passion carry the names of our Institution and IPN with pride.
