For the first time in its history, the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (UPN) has reached 100% compliance with Colombia’s Law on Transparency and Access to Public Information, according to an audit carried out by the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation on September 9, 2025.
Saida Andrea Gaitán Ruiz, Acting Head of the Office of Development and Planning, stated:
“This achievement marks an institutional milestone that reaffirms the importance of transparency and access to information as pillars of good university governance. It also represents a commitment to sustainability, as the challenge going forward will be to continuously update and maintain the content and mechanisms that enable the public to access information.”
In this way, the University not only complies with Law 1712 of 2014 and Resolution 1519 of 2020 of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC), but also demonstrates its institutional commitment to transparency, the diligent work of the Office of Development and Planning, and the Digital Governance Committee.
Elizabeth Barrera Bohórquez, Senior Specialist at the Office of Development and Planning, commented:
“This remarkable achievement highlights the University’s position as a model institution in public management, citizen access to information, and the strengthening of principles of transparency and ethics. The coordinated work, guided by professionalism and collective effort, has consolidated a model of excellence that undoubtedly inspires confidence among our stakeholders.”
UPN thanks the entire university community for its contribution to this process and reaffirms its commitment to continue strengthening good practices in digital governance and accountability.
