The National Pedagogical University and Birzeit University, one of the most relevant and recognized institutions in Palestine, have signed an academic cooperation agreement that transcends borders. This strategic alliance seeks to benefit the Palestinian people by strengthening academic work and teaching practices in both territories, thus contributing to the enrichment of internationalization.
It is important to highlight that Birzeit University is a public institution located in the West Bank, Palestine, offering undergraduate and graduate programs in information technology, engineering, science, social policy, arts, law, nursing, pharmacy, health sciences, economics, and administration. For the past five years, it has maintained its position as the best university in Palestine and is ranked among the top fifty in the Arab region.
Helberth Choachí, rector of the educator of educators, sees this new space as an invitation to the universities of the State University System and the Colombian Association of Universities to support the Palestinian people by contributing to academic relations, and thus transforming the conditions of human rights violations.
Alejandro Mantilla, head of the Office of Interinstitutional Relations, explained this agreement, which opens up many possibilities, not only for support to the Palestinian people, but also for joint academic development, by promoting dynamics of faculty, student, and administrative staff mobility. It also opens the option of creating a shared curriculum and helping rebuild the educational community that has suffered the consequences of the conflict with Israel.
The National Pedagogical University continues its commitment to teacher training, not only nationally but also in various countries around the world.
