As a primordial part of the process to reinforce the education in Colombia, the member to the House of Representatives, Gabriel Becerra submitted the Bill in honor both for the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional 70 years and the Instituto Pedagógico Nacional 100 years with the college management at the Congress of the Republic.
As an essential part of the process towards the strengthening of education in Colombia, the member to the House of Representatives, Gabriel Becerra, together with the University’s administration, submitted to the Congress of the Republic a Bill to honor both the 70th anniversary of the UPN and the 100th anniversary of the Instituto Pedagógico Nacional.
The submitting was attended by members of the college community, such as students, teachers and staff members, along with the support of the congress representatives Soledad Tamayo, Alberto Benavides, Robert Daza, Heráclito Landinez, Hermes Pete, Jennifer Pedraza, Gabriel Parrado, Gildardo Silva, and Dorina Hernández.
The submittal was made in the presence of members of the University community (students, faculty, and staff), with the concurrence and support of representatives of Congress: Soledad Tamayo, Alberto Benavides, Robert Daza, Heráclito Landinez, Hermes Pete, Jennifer Pedraza, Gabriel Parrado, Gildardo Silva, and Dorina Hernández.
During the event, the UPN teacher and rector, Helberth Choachí, remarked, “This Bill is a recognition of the efforts of our teachers, women and men, who have transformed Colombian education.
This regulation also highlights the valuable contribution to the education of future generations made by the Instituto Pedagógico Nacional, recognized as Colombian Historical and Cultural Heritage, which has allowed our Teacher Training Institution to expand the educational offer and strengthen our different spaces through the commitment to an inclusive and change-making education.
During the event, the Congressman Becerra sent special greetings and assured such a Bill is a recognition of the duty by UPN, the university’s boards, , workers and students, so each citizen may recognize the institution history and role training teachers and the teaching mission at large.
