The rector of the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, Helberth Choachí, met with Jairo Avellaneda García, regional director of Social Prosperity, with the goal of expanding the Programa Renta Joven for students at the University.

This promotes access, permanence and graduation from higher education and complementary training by conditional monetary transfers to manage new opportunities for social mobility through employment, entrepreneurship and postgraduate education.

The rector of the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, Helberth Choachí, met with the Regional Director of Social Prosperity, Jairo Avellaneda García, to expand the Programa Renta Joven for students at the University. It promotes enrolment, retention and completion of higher and supplementary education by means of conditional cash transfers to manage new opportunities for social mobility through employment, entrepreneurship, and postgraduate training.

This meeting was attended by Víctor Eligio Espinosa Galán, Academic Vice-Rector, and Yaneth Romero Coca, Administrative and Financial Vice-Rector, who contributed to the consolidation of agreements that benefit the Institution´s students of the who will be part of a new generation of teachers.

During this meeting, efforts were made to propose strategies for generating presence in several regions to create job opportunities for students in their final semesters, thereby enhancing the profession of teaching. The collaboration also included potential support for university welfare services in agreement with Prosperidad Social to begin a process of integration of the Programa Renta Joven with the updated System of Identification of Potential Beneficiaries of Social Programs (Sisben, by its original acronym) for students.
