UPN professor wins silver medal at table tennis tournament for SUE officers

On Saturday, August 31st, the table tennis tournament for officers from the System of State Universities (SUE, by original acronym) of Bogotá took place at the facilities of the Universidad Nacional of Colombia. More than 50 players from institutions within the system took part, i.e. Universidad Nacional, Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, Escuela Tecnológica Instituto Técnico Central, Universidad Colegio Mayor de Cundinamarca, Universidad Militar Nueva Granada, and Universidad Pedagógica Nacional.

On behalf of our Teacher Training Institution, Professor Carlos Hernán López, a faculty member in the Department of Technology and Coordinator of the Innovation, Educational Development, and Technological Center (Cinndet, by its original acronym), won the silver medal. It is important to highlight that in previous competitions , 2021, won silver, and 2022, bronze.

On behalf of our Teacher Training Institution, Professor Carlos Hernán López, Faculty Member of the Department of Technology and Coordinator of the Center for Innovation, Educational Development and Technology (Cinndet, by its original acronym), won the silver medal. It is important to highlight that in previous competitions, in 2021, he also won silver and in 2022, bronze.

Regarding, López explained “I have been participating in the tournaments for a long time, representing the University, first as a master’s student, then as a doctoral student, and this time as a faculty member.”

In addition, he emphasizes the importance of participation and visibility for the University, as well as the integration and community these types of events generate. Despite not having the possibility to train at Calle 72 campus, he has used the tables at the Valmaría facilities to achieve his titles.

In this regard, López explained, “I have been in the tournaments representing the university for a long time; first as a master’s student, then as a Ph.D. student, and this time as a faculty member.” He also stresses the participation and visibility for the college, as well as the integration and community that these types of events create. He has used the tables in the Valmaría facilities to win his titles, despite the inability to train at the Calle 72 campus.

He has been practicing this sport all his life developing a great ability, and during these contests he makes his best effort to maintaining the university’s good name by his participation.
