Last May 17th afternoon, the Grand Final of the Women’s Futsal Tournament of the Colombian University Association (ASCUN), Bogotá Node, was held at the coliseum of the Universidad de Los Andes. The match was played between the representative teams of the UPN and the Fundación Universitaria Área Andina. This is the largest university tournament.

The UPN has won this Grand Final for the third time in a row after winning on penalty kicks. The outstanding performance of our university team is highly praised.

Jessica Quiroga, a team player and eighth-semester Bachelor of Science in Sports student, explained that since 2018, they have been part of a process that has helped them grow as a family, learning together from the ground up about topics, such as rotations, game strategies, and tactics. “This is the result of hard work and perseverance. We won because of our dedication. I am honored to represent the university, and I will personally try to do my best,” she concluded.

Thanks to this victory, the team has secured its participation in the National Games of the Coffee Axis to be held in August and September. The University community congratulates the players and their coaches, Leonardo Cristiano and Fabián Ortega.
